Focus On Renewal honors its late founder with t-shirt message urging community involvement

A t-shirt honoring Father Don Fisher and all of his work in the Sto-Rox Area recently has been unveiled by Focus on Renewal.

The co-founder of the social services organization, Fisher was still very much active with the neighborhood corporation when he died in February at the age of 81.

“To honor him and all his work in Sto-Rox, we are spreading one of his oft-quoted mantras, ‘You can’t get it done if you don’t show up,’ on locally made t-shirts and posters around the community,” says Lydia Morin, Director of Engagement and Enterprise at FOR.

“Please help us start the #ShowUp movement by wearing a t-shirt in his memory,” she asks.

Additionally, FOR has recently updated their website to provide further information about their beloved founder’s, Father Don and Sister Paulette Honeygosky. The new founder’s pages are a work in progress. The nonprofit welcomes submissions sharing stories about the founders.

Shirts are available for $20 in person at Ryan Arts and Culture Center, 420 Chartiers Ave., or are $30 including shipping and handling costs through the website store.
