Did you know the McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation will be moving to a new location? And that our friends at Level Equity Building will share the space at the former PNC Bank spot at 421 Chartiers Ave.? (Don’t worry, the ATM’s will remain available for public use.)
LEVEL has the honor of activating the new space with an open house and community day set for May 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
LEVEL’s Homeownership HUB’s launch events that Thursday and Friday will provide access to meet with a LEVEL team member to discuss the path to homeownership and obtain resources that can help them become home-ready. Also, they can “shop” donated home goods in a temporary Free Store. I’ve seen some of the home goods and lets just say I am jealous! Saturday’s Homeownership Community Day will be held in the former McDonald’s lot. (Details Below)
Following the events, LEVEL will establish regular hours. As to us, we’ll be continuing to stay in our current space till the end of our lease. We plan to begin the move in September 2025. Meanwhile, our current office at 701 Yunker St., will be incorporated into the Yunker Street Studios, with some of the newer nine upstairs spaces already leased.
THE HUB: Homeownership Uplifting Buyers
About the HUB:
LEVEL’s Homeownership HUB is an extension of their existing work in the McKees Rocks community, beyond the facilitation of 10 new homes and homeowners.
The HUB – located in the former PNC Bank building on Chartiers Avenue – will activate this space in partnership with the McKees Rocks CDC to act as a physical homebase for LEVEL’s outreach initiatives.
‘Pop-Up’ Free Store + Open House

Community members can stop by The HUB’s Open House to meet with a LEVEL team member to discuss the path to homeowner-ship and obtain resources that can help them become home-ready. Also, they can “shop” donated home goods in the temporary Free Store.

Following Tree Pittsburgh’s SOLD OUT seedling giveaway that Saturday, morning, LEVEL is setting the scene for a neighborhood-wide celebration by activating and enjoying a public space on lower Chartiers Avenue.
Residents will get a keepsake from the day, with photo opps within an 8-foot balloon arch with gold mylar balloons highlighting “The Rocks.”
Additionally, information booths from local partners will be onsite. The afternoon will include snacks and drinks, music and more.
Imagination Playground, an innovative playground equipment system, will transform the lawn into a creative build space. Families and residents will be encouraged to design with a variety of loose parts including cubes, bricks, cogs, curves, and cylinders.
With different holes and shapes that fit together in ways that allow the continuation of someone’s idea…a pair becomes a wall…a wall becomes a room. A room becomes a house!
