#Giving Tuesday is the one time of year where we blow up your inbox and our social media feeds with reminders about the annual fundraising appeal that kicks off the holiday season. Thank you so much for being understanding.

This year, we participated in #GivingTuesday in a variety of ways including a Facebook campaign, through our website and Pittsburgh Magazine’s #GiveBigPittsburgh push to bring in funds for regional nonprofits.

We are thankful for all of your donations, but one in particular sticks out as worthy of mention because of the attached comment:

Thank you to all who have helped us through the year whether it be through working to make McKees Rocks a better place, volunteering, attending our friendraiser and happy hour events at local businesses or participating in fundraisers. Every little bit helps, as MRCDC relies on donations to:

• Help restore commercial properties like The Roxian Theatre
• Support local businesses and Sto-Rox youth through sponsorship and technical assistance
• Provide grants for façade restoration projects like the Teamsters building and Hollowood Music & Sound on Chartiers Avenue
• Improve community perception through events like Feastival
