The McKees Rocks Community Development Corp. (MRCDC) has recognized the emergency worker’s of McKees Rocks and Stowe Township in honor of First Responder’s Day.

In recognition of all that the area first responders provide to their communities, the MRCDC has provided gift certificates for local small businesses to members of the McKees Rocks and Stowe Township police departments and to the crew at NorthWest EMS.

Additionally, to help supplement lost fundraising efforts because of COVID-19 restrictions, MRCDC has also provided funding for the McKees Rocks, Stowe and Preston volunteer fire departments.

Earlier in the year, area gift certificates were presented to members of the Sto-Rox Family Health Center, as well.

In total, nearly $5,000 was gifted to these organizations or their members.

Gift certificates were purchased from places like Abjuration Brewing, Black Forge Coffee, Broadway Brunch, Gazette 2.0, Jabby Joes, Lynne’s Cafe, Quality Dry Cleaners, Terry’s Snack Shop, as well as, local pizza shops and bakeries.
