Guest bartenders face off in MRCDC fundraising challenge

Board members from the McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation (MRCDC) are facing off in a guest bartender competition at the Parkway Theater & Film Lounge in Stowe Dec. 6.

It’s a Green & White competition where Directors Henry Horn-Pyatt and Jason Corrado each make versions of a signature drink reflecting their assigned Sto-Rox color. Whoever sells the most signature cocktails and whoever collects the most in tips will be crowned King of the Vikings.

Rumor has it the drinks will be Margaritas and White Russians.

So come out and support a good cause and your favorite board member. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the MRCDC and community development initiatives for the communities of McKees Rocks and Stowe.

Meet Henry Horn-Pyatt:
Henry is the Small Business and Redevelopment Manager for Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto. With a background in neighborhood revitalization, Henry considers himself a ‘church basement guy’ who strives to include under-represented community voices in policy decisions.

Meet Jason Corrado:
Jason is a business development manager with independent wholesale insurance broker Conway E&S, Inc. Both Jason and his wife Kim are 1995 graduates of Sto-Rox. Jason is committed to giving back to McKees Rocks, his hometown, and serves as secretary of the MRCDC board of directors.

Additionally, Executive Director Taris Vrcek will be helping to pour beers at the Abjuration Brewing taproom. He will not be competing in the guest bartender cocktail sales going on at the Film Lounge Bar area but will be competing for tips.

Please come out and support three great local businesses under one roof – Parkway Theater & Film LoungeAbjuration Brewing and Dana’s Kitchen. If you’ve not experienced this wonderful space, now is the time to do so. To put you in the holiday spirit, “Christmas Vacation” will be playing in the movie theater.

See you from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6. Admission is free. Tips will be collected in cash only.
