McKees Rocks Community Development Corp. joined the Little Vikings at Rangers Field in the McKees Rocks Bottoms April 3 with delicious Doughboy’s Pizza in hand to help kick-off the Flag Football season.
While there, members of the staff and board asked parents and the youth about what they would like to see change and improve in the Sto-Rox community. Answers ranged from a need for more after-school programming, basketball court renovations, clean and safe green spaces, community days and affordable property.
Board member and Sto-Rox Athletic Director LaRoi Brown joined the fun bringing members of the high school football team (many former Little Vikings) who helped out with coaching the youngsters.
The MRCDC’s plans for a Youth Advisory Board were also broached to the youngsters in attendance.
