Beginning  August 1st, 2016, the school readiness app “Ready Rosie” will be available for free to residents of the 15136 zip code. Ready Rosie provides short videos of activities for parents, caregivers and even teachers to do with children aged zero to six. The goal is to ensure our kids are school ready. The videos are fun, interactive and delivered to users via email or text.

Ready Rosie is provided to Sto-Rox through the Community Innovation Zone (CIZ) grant from the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development. Focus on Renewal received the CIZ grant in partnership with Sto-Rox Elementary and Brightside Academy. The CIZ grant has funded other programs in the Greater Pittsburgh Area like “Ready Freddy’ and the “Homewood Early Learning Hub”. Come August, Sto-Rox joins the list of other communities and school districts like Pittsburgh Public and West Allegheny School District using Ready Rosie.

(3) Videos are delivered by email or text
