Meet the MRCDC Community Outreach Ambassadors

If you attended the inaugural April Fools’ Parade in McKees Rocks, April 2, you may have run into our cohort of Community Outreach Ambassadors.

The group of six area residents led by Community Engagement Director Gina Beavers worked with various community groups including host organization McKees Rocks Women’s Alliance to get the event off the ground in less than a month’s time. Amazing!

In the coming months, the Ambassador cohort will be seen around town at various events helping MRCDC to further solidify its community engagement efforts.

Members include residents Tamika Huffman, Dalisha Hoszowski, Nora Peacock, Diane Crease, Nancy Rees, and Joan Bennett.

The group is planning to host “Family, Fancy, and Fun” on Saturday, May 21 where they will be “spilling the tea with yummy treats and wonderful conversation for the entire family.” So come meet your neighbors and get to know the MRCDC Ambassadors. Fancy hats encouraged!

The fun begins at 2 p.m. at Pneuma Worship Center, 700 Yunker St., McKees Rocks. There will be light refreshments, crafts for the kids, a special presentation, and chances to win prizes.

In addition to wearing a fancy hat, the Ambassadors ask you to also bring a nonperishable food item to support the Pneuma Worship Center Food Bank.
