Focus On Renewal Receives Early Learning Grant from the Child Health Association of Sewickley

Focus On Renewal (FOR) received a $1,250 grant from the Child Health Association of Sewickley for its support of Bedtime STOry ROX.

On Sunday, April 12, Focus On Renewal will host Bedtime STOry ROX from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Father Ryan Arts Center, 420 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks. This free family-focused early literacy festival features celebrity storytellers and fosters learning, social interaction and fun activities for preschool-age children and their families.

FOR’s Executive Director Greg Quinlan said, “We are truly grateful to have such generous supporters like the Child Health Association of Sewickley. This grant will strengthen our early childhood work in the Sto-Rox community.”

April is the Month of the Young Child and the Father Ryan Arts Center will join with the Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children (PAEYC) to celebrate it. Other partners include Comcast, FOR Sto-Rox Library and Focus On Renewal’s Family Foundations/Early Head Start and Positive Parenting Family Support centers.

Preschoolers are welcome to wear pajamas and slippers while listening to storytellers, participating in fun arts and crafts, and enjoying milk and cookies.
