What would you like to see on lower Chartiers Avenue?

Earlier this month, McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation (MRCDC) held a public town hall event regarding the lower Chartiers Avenue roadway improvement streetscape project.

Lower Chartiers Avenue is being redeveloped to promote multimodal transportation safety and create cohesive, community-friendly spaces along the project area. The Nov. 12 meeting was designed to gather community input as to aesthetics for this streetscape and roadway improvement project.

If you were unable to attend, your input is still needed to help narrow down the concepts and tailor the streetscape improvement designs.

“We want to include the public in this decision-making process and receive input on the design options associated with the streetscape improvements,” says Jeb Feldman, director of economic development.

This survey will remain open through Feb. 18, 2026.

Katy Sawyer, principal engineer with Toole Design, explains some of the safety changes being planned for lower Chartiers Avenue as part of Project Sponsor MRCDC’s streetscape and roadway improvement project.
