Pittsburgh City Paper’s annual reader’s choice competition has become the biggest competition in Pittsburgh and has been occurring for more than 20 years. Winners are 100% chosen by reader nomination and votes, which come from throughout the region. 

The first round of the competition is a mass call for nominations in more than 200 categories representing the very best that Pittsburgh has to offer. The second round takes the top 10 nominees (based on most nominations) for each category and so starts the voting round. 

All readers have one vote per category to eventually name the Top Three winners in each category. 

Rumor has it McKees Rocks has a few Top Three Winners and maybe even a few overall category winners. We know more than we are letting on but have been sworn to secrecy by the good folks at City Paper. Suffice it to say, you should come on out and support your local favorites. We know we will.

This year’s event is “out of this world” with the theme: SPACE and will be held Sept. 29 at the Roxian Theatre on Chartiers Avenue.
