Stowe resident Adrienne Roberts is one of three recent additions to the McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation Board of Directors. Roberts, joins Aliya Wray of Aliya Wray’s Beauty Parlor and Eric Lawlor, executive vice president and COO at Ohio Valley Hospital as new directors.
A transplant from the City of Pittsburgh to McKees Rocks and later Stowe, Roberts has been making a difference in the Sto-Rox region for the past 30 years.
“I just roll my sleeves up and get in,” says Roberts of her volunteer spirit. In addition to her many volunteer pursuits, Roberts also serves as a trustee at Second Baptist Church in McKees Rocks and is a former school director with the Sto-Rox district.
She also works as the director of the positive parenting program at Focus on Renewal which is part of Allegheny County’s family support network.
“You need to value and give back to your community and be a part of it. Remember no place is perfect,” says Roberts, who wants to see good things continue to happen in the Sto-Rox region.
