‘Community Needs Survey’ prioritizes PA funding

By filling out the “Community Needs Survey” you will provide another avenue for the citizens of Pennsylvania to contribute their opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of their community.

DCED must prepare a consolidated plan every five years that outlines the Commonwealth’s plans for the use of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants in infrastructure, housing, public services, homelessness and economic development. DCED will use this survey to help identify funding priorities for six federal HUD programs from 2019 to 2023, as well as assist in the future development of programs.

For the current consolidated plan, HUD has also asked the Commonwealth to visit the need for broadband service and disaster resilience throughout the state. From the information gathered, priorities can be determined where there are needs in these activities that warrant specific funding from the federal program

This survey will also assist in targeting and leveraging resources to address the needs for stronger and more vibrant communities. Participation is anonymous, and DCED will place a copy of the aggregated results on its website at www.dced.pa.gov.

The survey will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 31.
