Who We Are
The McKees Rocks CDC is the bricks and mortar of McKees Rocks and Stowe revitalization. Our
commitment is to the community, and our pursuit is economic prosperity for businesses, residents,
and investors.

1998- A group of stakeholders convened to discuss the creation of a comprehensive plan to revitalize
McKees Rocks.
2001- A strategic plan for the future development for McKees Rocks begins.
2003- The strategic plan is completed, and the McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation
(MRCDC) is founded, to revitalize the McKees Rocks business district and address declining rates of
residency.
October 2006- FORward Careers (now the McKees Rocks Employment and Training Center) is created,
assisting local residents in finding meaningful careers and job training.
2007- The Shoppes at Chartiers Crossings project begins. Today, it is among the CDC's crowning
achievements. It has brought over 20M in investments to McKees Rocks, and development continues.
October 2008- The Father Ryan Arts Center (FRAC) opens its doors for the first time, offering cultural
programs and classes in everything from dance to painting.
November 2009- The groundbreaking of the Roxian Theater Renovation, the start of a project to bring
back a 1500 seat concert venue in McKees Rocks.
Spring 2011- Expected Roxian Theater grand opening.
