Dietz Building Mural
The first mural of the McKees Rocks Mural Project was completed
in 2002, and was truly representative of our community. Local
artist Jim Levendosky created the subject matter: an early
1900's depiction of life on Chartiers Avenue. Jim was joined by
6 high school students from Sto-Rox. He challenged the teens
to expand their understanding of light and composition, and
they made significant contributions to the artwork. In the
process, they gained a great deal of pride, sense of
accomplishment, and the realization that a career in the arts is
possible.
